The Berson’s project is rooted in a site of great significance both in the artistic development of the Montreal metropolis and in the development of the identity of Saint-Laurent Boulevard. Inhabited by the Berson family for many generations, the site has also hosted the workshops of distinguished artists such as Stanley Lewis and Edith Brodkin. This rich past is at the heart of our current proposal for a mixed-use building deeply rooted in its history. The project pays homage to the artistic community by hosting a creative co-working space in order to animate the building and revive the spirit that once inhabited it. A mix of affordable studios and family-sized apartments promotes social diversity by creating a unified community hub.
