The Video Collections Repository (VCR) is a unique space created by Concordia University's Faculty of Fine Arts to bring together a significant collection of art images in a variety of formats. The space also serves as a gathering and discovery place for the entire faculty.
The concept put forward by KANVA proposes to put the collection at the center of the activities. Indeed, thousands of slides, cassettes and discs are highlighted and stored in a large wooden wall, acoustically and visually isolating the controlled projection rooms from the open and user-friendly work and meeting spaces.
The large wood panels create a uniform treatment for the storage of diverse documents and refer to the different image formats of the collection.
