EPHEMERAL INSTALLATION IN ANTICIPATION OF THE EDISON STUDENT RESIDENCE
30 LITS
MONTREAL, QC
Intervention:
Art installation
Year:
2013
30 Lits is an ephemeral art installation that spontaneously transformed a vacant, urban lot in the summer of 2013. The installation was comprised of 30 distinct and elegant bed frames, painted white and positioned on a neutral, gravel substrate.
The nearly constant frenzy of the proximate academic masses plays a stark counterpart to the placid dormancy expressed by the installation. The opening of the 30 Lits installation was an impromptu affair - no announcement was made and no publicity was undertaken. The exhibit was intended to be chanced upon as an unexpected intermission in the typical urban trajectory of the passers-by.
