Following fifteen successful years under Calder’s “L’homme” sculpture, Piknic Électronik must now be relocated to Parc Jean Drapeau’s Plaine des Jeux for a three year period. Mandated to adapt the new site and recreate Piknic’s distinct atmosphere, KANVA conceived the infrastructure unifying the various features of the site.

Recycled wooden pallet structures and furniture have become the renewed emblem of Piknic, putting forth innovation and ingenuity in offering visitors an attractive, animated site. Creating dynamic spatial relations while addressing safety concerns, KANVA’s scenography allows for an experience true to Piknic’s core values – a friendly and durable environment. The variations in pallet assembly result in declinations fostering a wide array of functions, all the while echoing the maritime environment surrounding the site. Multiplication of the chosen unit gives way to a rich and modulated grid onsite.
