In 2011, KANVA was invited by the Maison de l’architecture du Québec to participate in the exhibition Reinventons la ruelle! The competition invited architects, landscape architects and urban planners to present their strategies and ideas for rethinking the laneways and back façades of a typical Montreal neighbourhood.

KANVA’s intervention, Our Back Alleys, Our Kids, Our Daycare, turns the alleyway behind one city block into a car-free green space incorporating a neighbourhood day care facility and serving various social functions, notably as an intergenerational meeting point for the local residents.
